Friends of Grouseland - Benefits of Membership
There are three major levels of Friends of Grouseland Society Membership.  First, donations of $1000 and above are extended membership in the recognition societies instituted by Grouseland’s first capital campaign, “Past, Preservation and Future.”  The current period of recognition runs through the Bicentennial of Indiana Statehood, December 11, 2016.  All gifts given at these levels enjoy free admission to Grouseland through 2016.

Second, Grouseland’s annual “Friends” levels recognize donations of up to $1000.

Multi-year commitments are encouraged, because they demonstrate an ongoing commitment to supporting Grouseland’s mission.  Grouseland extends to those who make pledges for multiple years membership and recognition for the cumulative pledge amount either for the duration of the pledge or for a set period of time.  For “Past, Preservation and Future” pledges and any subsequent multi-year pledges, recognition is extended to gifts of $1000 or more until the Bicentennial of Indiana Statehood, December 11, 2016.  For pledges under $1000, recognition is extended for the duration of the pledge.  As donors contribute addition gifts, they will be promoted through the levels for their cumulative gifts.

The third and final recognition level is the “Harrison Family Legacy Society,” which recognizes memorial and estate gifts, which are declared or received and may be recognized annually (for one-time gifts) or over an extended period of time, depending on the nature of the gift, such as a declared bequest, which has not yet been realized.  Recognition and membership for declared and received estate gifts are permanent and will remain as a living tribute to the generosity of the donor.

Memorial gifts are those given to honor a loved one, or that are given by the request of someone, who names Grouseland Foundation as the beneficiary of gifts given by others at the time of their death.  In addition to including Grouseland Foundation in one’s will, making advance funeral arrangements and asking loved ones to contribute to Grouseland as a means of honoring your memory is also greatly appreciated.

All “Friends of Grouseland,” who give at the student, individual, family levels or higher, enjoy certain Membership Privileges, including

·         Invitations to Exhibit Opening Receptions and “Friends” Travel Opportunities.

·         Invitations to the Grouseland Foundation Annual Dinner.

·         Grouseland Gazette newsletter.

·         10% discount in Grouseland Gift Shop.

If the value of any premiums received exceeds a minimum value, that value must be subtracted from the tax deductible amount of one’s gift when and if one claims the gift as an income tax deduction.  Those amounts will be provided when the gift is recognized.  Donors can elect to forego any premiums offered.
